A coordinated master suite renovation pairing a calacatta-marble bathroom with an adjoining walk-in closet. Custom white oak shaker cabinetry, brushed gold fixtures, peony floral wallpaper, and a checkerboard marble floor that flows from the vanity area straight through the dressing room.
This San Carlos master suite pairs a fully renovated bathroom with a custom-built walk-in closet directly adjoining it. The brief was to make both rooms feel like a single coordinated space — same flooring, same hardware family, same level of finish — so the daily ritual of getting ready never crosses an obvious threshold.
The material story is built around white oak, calacatta marble, and brushed gold, layered against a soft peony floral wallpaper in the bathroom and a dramatic dark floral pattern as the accent backdrop in the closet. A continuous checkerboard marble floor in white and sage stone runs through both rooms, giving the suite a cohesive identity from one end to the other.

White oak, calacatta, brushed gold, and a peony floral above the vanity. The bathroom and closet were built to read as one continuous suite, not two separate rooms.Bark & Build Builders · CSLB #1119304

A frameless glass walk-in shower wraps around an integrated full-length marble bench, finished in handmade white zellige tile across all three walls and a marble mosaic floor. A brushed gold rain head, dedicated handheld on a slide bar, and recessed niche framed in marble give the shower full functionality without breaking the clean tile field.
A privacy-frosted window above the bench brings in natural light without sacrificing privacy, and the brushed gold door pull and matching hinges tie the enclosure back to the gold fixture package used throughout the rest of the bath.
A full-height white closet system with adjustable shelving, brass-rod hanging, integrated drawers with brass pulls, and a sage-green corner shoe carousel. Dark floral wallpaper backs each open bay, and a vintage pink chandelier anchors the space overhead.
The bathroom and closet now read as one continuous suite. The same checkerboard marble flooring runs through both rooms, the same brushed gold hardware family appears on every door, drawer, and fixture, and the white oak millwork is detailed identically across the vanity and the closet's tall storage cabinet.
Wallpaper does the work of giving each room its own personality — a soft peony pattern keeps the bathroom feeling bright and feminine, while the dramatic dark floral inside the closet bays gives the dressing room a quieter, more theatrical mood. The homeowners get a master suite that performs, day after day, exactly the way it photographs.
